I watched him when the sun shone
I watched him during snow I watched him when the rain came down I watched him through winds that blow
I watched him through the playground years
I watched him while he grew
I watched him tackle teenage years
I watched how TALL he grew I watched him struggle education I watched him grow with skill
I watched him embrace his inner talent I watched him mature and fulfil
I watched him fall over
I watched him rise up
I watched him become a man I watched him mess up

I watched him fall in love I watched him seize the day I watched his heart break I watched him close away
I watched him want to grow
I watched him trust in us
I watched him want a family I watched him feel that lust

I watched him sabotage himself I watch the grief we felt
I watched the hurt his anxiety caused I watched a rock solid family, just melt

I watched people feel overwhelmed I watched your friends just crumble I watched the church full to the rafters I watched…. and I felt humble
